History: La Seigneurie du Triton dates back to the 1870s, a time when Québec City and Chicoutimi were linked by rail. An engineer by the name of Alexander Luder’s Light founded the Triton Fish and Game Club in 1893, providing access to the area’s more than 200 lakes. The golden age of the club came in the mid-twentieth century when the Triton welcomed such illustrious club members as American presidents Theodore Roosevelt and Harry Truman, members of the Rockefeller and Molson families, British prime minister Winston Churchill, and many others. The main building at La Seigneurie du Triton is the century-old Club House, which can accommodate 50 guests. The Titron, a new pavilion built in the same style in 1993, can also accommodate 50 guests. Traditional Québec and internationally inspired cuisine can be enjoyed in the large, picturesque dining room. This outfitter establishment and resort also features canoes, swimming, hiking, a nature interpretation trail, a visit to an Amerindian site, indoor and outdoor entertainment and games, and exclusive fishing on nearby lakes with equipment rental available.
